What is LegalQuickDocs™?

LegalQuickDocs™ is the soon to be released, online, virtual law office service of The Ballard Law Corporation. It fills the gap between non-lawyer forms companies and our usual, in-person, office-based professional legal services. Clients save money by completing an online interview rather than using attorney time. We provide a broad range of documents for business law, corporate matters, real estate, estate planning and more.

Legal Forms Companies and Document Preparers Cannot Provide Legal Advice

Buyer Beware! The Internet is filled with legal forms companies and document preparation services. None of these are licensed or authorized to give legal advice. You cannot have the confidence that the document is legally tailored to your needs.

When you look at a typical online forms site, you should see a disclaimer like this: “We are not a law firm or a substitute for an attorney or law firm. We cannot provide any kind of advice, explanation, opinion, or recommendation about possible legal rights, remedies, defenses, options, selection of forms or strategies. . . Communications between you and [online forms company] are not protected by attorney-client privilege or as confidential work product.”

Protect Your Private Information

A lawyer is legally and ethically prohibited from disclosing client’s secrets. Your information can never be disclosed without your voluntary consent. There is no such legal mandate with a forms company or legal document assistant.

Only a lawyer is trained and licensed to provide legal advice. Automated drafting software and non-lawyer document preparers cannot provide the level of expertise that you get with a lawyer-reviewed document. Too often our office has had to repair the damage caused by non-lawyer documents. The cost of legal “damage control” is usually higher than the cost of doing it right the first time.

That’s why we are creating LegalQuickDocs™. It is the bridge between low-budget, online forms services that too often don’t meet client needs and our more expensive and time consuming full, professional services that are required for more complex and sophisticated legal needs.
